In Photo – Tiffney Bergeron, Jazmin and Steve Wood

(Lowell, MA)  On November 28th Jazmin Bey-Gonzales, a Career Resource Specialist in our Lowell, Massachusetts market, was awarded a Success-at-Work Award during a team meeting. She was nominated for the award by Tiffney Bergeron, Regional Director.

In her nomination Tiffney wrote about this special client success as result of Jazmin’s effort –

“Rebecca C joined WOU’s SEP services in July of 2016.  Rebecca’s journey to employment presented many barriers with the most significant including: living in a remote area, very little work experience and her family being very specific about employers they would consider based on their religious beliefs.

Since July of 2016, Jazmin Bey-Gonzales has worked with Rebecca on exploring employers and gaining skills. Jazmin could not have been more patient with Rebecca and her family’s requests. When the idea of Rebecca securing employment seemed impossible, Jazmin switched gears and coordinated a work assessment for Rebecca to more accurately market her skills to employers. Jazmin worked tirelessly and utilized every resource available to her (BD team, challenging round table, other team members etc.) Since joining our program, over 700 contact notes have been added to the portal on behalf of Rebecca.  In April of 2018, Rebecca was offered a position as a stock clerk at Party City.

Management reports being very pleased with Rebecca’s performance and have been very invested in identifying natural supports. Rebecca and her family are thrilled that she is happily employed. Jazmin has changed Rebecca’s view of work and the way she sees herself in the world.”

In making the presentation Steve Wood presented Jazmin a certificate which read:

Of special note is how Jazmin jumped over and around dozens of barriers helping Rebecca become a core employee at Party City. Jazmin’s positive attitude and commitment to clients, make her a great teammate and a Success at Work!
