RIVIERA BEACH, Fla.– Sadly in Florida, doors to employment don’t always open to people with disabilities.

They continue the struggle to find meaningful employment – jobs that enable them to contribute and lead productive lives. In this week’s Extraordinary People, CBS 12’s Michele Wright spotlight’s a man who’s grateful to be alive and given the opportunity to do what he loves.

Most of us, at one time or another, have taken work for granted. We view it as hum-drum, nine-to-five, a daily grind to be tolerated if not endured; but not so for Sean Garrick. He’s looked beyond his disability, worked too hard to literally step into the job he has, to take one moment for granted.

“I was in a bad car accident which left me paralyzed & I was in a coma too. Through progress and working in the hospital and therapy, I am able to walk and use my hands.”
