During the presentation Nick noted many successes Jill has had, highlighted by her amazing work with Marshwood High School in Eliot, Maine. Jill has been working with Marshwood High School for the past 5 years under a private school contract.  She has been supporting students in the Career Pathways Program at the school providing them with employment skills development training in the classroom and working with 4-5 students in the community for paid and unpaid work assessments. She has been able to work with students over the course of their time in high school and this has allowed Jill to foster growth and development with each student.

One of the students Jill has been supporting for the past few years recently graduated in December. Max was supported by Jill both in the classroom and in the community. The growth that Max has shown in school over the past few years has been amazing. Max successfully completed a variety of work assessments in his local community including Seacoast Printing, Al’s Goldfish Lure Company, Fair Tide Thrift Store, and various in-district unpaid work assessments. Jill was integral to Max being successful in every one of these work assessments. Jill has not only supported Max in the community at assessment sites, she has helped him in the classroom as well. Jill comes prepared to the school 2-3 times a week in which she will have a specific employment related topic to teach the students. In addition to this, Jill has helped train various Ed Techs from the school on effective on-site supports. Jill worked with Max to create a video resume that highlighted his work experience, hobbies, and learning style. The finished product came out really well and most importantly, Max was involved in every aspect of it. This has been a powerful tool for Max as he struggles with answering questions during an interview. One of the work assessments Max completed while being supported by Jill has turned into a paid position. Al’s Goldfish offered Max an on-call position making fishing lures after he proved during the work assessment that he could be productive in this role. This success story was also highlighted on a local news station where Jill was interviewed.
