On September 22, 2016, WOU in collaboration with PG County Public Schools presented three transition programs that are being offered to students across the district which includes 13 high schools. The programs include: Project Search, Employment Transition Services, and Pre-Employment Transition Services. The picture above was taken at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD following a presentation to students, parents and faculty. In addition to Northwestern, presentations were given at Parkdale and High Point High Schools to over 200 attendees. The goal was to inform all stakeholders about the benefits of each program and generate interest in going to work as the students transition from high school. The WOU team from Prince George’s County is entering their third year providing transition services to predominantly graduating seniors. WOU Team Leader, Maria Wardlow, has been primarily responsible for the delivery of services within the district and did a fantastic job presenting those services in an engaging manner that generated interest and excitement.
