Maggie Surette recently joined Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU), a community-based employment service provider specializing in placing job seekers who experience barriers to employment, as Director of the organization’s Keene market.
In her role, Surette will coach, monitor, and train the market’s community-based team to ensure they meet and exceed the expectations of WOU’s clients. Surette is well-versed in leading a team; before joining WOU, she spent nearly 10 years with the same organization, first as a store manager and then as a training manager, where she hired, trained, and provided ongoing development of a motivated and driven team.
A resident of Greenville, Surette was raised in Malden, Massachusetts, where she volunteered at Eliot Community Human Services to give the area youth a voice in their monthly meetings. She did so in an effort to help the service providers in the community recognize the realities of youth dealing with a range of mental/emotional health challenges. In an effort to provide a different perspective on how to help these youth and their families overcome these difficulties.
“I am excited to be part of the WOU team and to be leading the Keene market in this time of growth. Our team is passionate about helping individuals who face barriers in employment and they strive daily to better themselves, expand their knowledge of our services, and work together to create an environment of collaboration, encouragement, and positivity.”
Darlene Hayden, Regional Director with WOU, commented, “Maggie was chosen for the Director role due to her experience in training and development. The Keene team needed a Director that would bring a sense of excitement and professionalism while implementing our company culture, and Maggie was just that person. We are looking forward to seeing the Keene market expand under her leadership.”
