(Methuen, MA) – Work Opportunities Unlimited is pleased to announce that Jazmin Bey-Gonzalez of Methuen, was recently presented with the company’s Retained Placement Award for excellence in supported employment and job retention.
Founded upon the principle that all people can work, Work Opportunities Unlimited is a community-based, employment service provider specializing in placing people with disabilities, and job seekers who experience barriers to employment, in competitive work environments. As a Career Resource Specialist, Bey-Gonzalez dedicates her days to breaking down barriers and opening the doors to possibilities, for people with disabilities. She helps prepare people for the workplace and supports them while on the job.
“Our goal is to change the world of work,” says Bey Gonzalez. “Work Opportunities operates from the premise that people with disabilities deserve to work independently in their communities, just like everybody else. I have a passion for helping people and it gives me great pleasure to know that I’m making a difference in a person’s life but if my approach doesn’t work for an individual, if they don’t understand or they need interventions to help them in the workplace, I’ll try another way. My focus is always about helping my clients, and the employers that hire them, to succeed.”
Bey-Gonzalez was recognized for the instrumental role she played in developing strategies that helped an individual with developmental disabilities retain his job.
Regional Director Tiffney Bergeron commented, “Jazmin demonstrated amazing creativity, patience, excellent communication, job site modification and effective retention planning on behalf of this client. She worked very hard to slowly and strategically implement ideas that assisted this individual to become more independent on the job. We’re fortunate to have her on our team.”
Congratulations, Jazmin!
