DOVER, N.H. June 28, 2018—Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU), a community-based employment service provider specializing in placing job seekers who experience barriers to employment, is pleased to announce it has appointed Nicholas “Nick” Mastrella to manage its Supported Employment Program (SEP) in York County, Maine.

The Supported Employment Program (SEP) cultivates and promotes community-based employment and volunteer programs for individuals with disabilities. In his new role, Mastrella oversees the York County team to ensure the highest quality services are being provided to more than 75 individuals in York County who receive work support and community support services. Mastrella is also responsible for making sure all team members and individuals are meeting their own goals and objectives.

“I have had the privilege of working in various markets since joining Work Opportunities and am excited to now be serving my home community here in York County,” Mastrella commented. “I believe strongly in Work Opportunities’ mission, and feel the organization can continue making a significant impact in supporting those with disabilities.”

After joining Work Opportunities in 2009 as a Career Resource Specialist in the Portland/Brunswick, ME market, Nick quickly became a team leader of Business Development, securing community-based employment for clients in all market areas that WOU provides services. He also assisted Work Opportunities’ sister company, Leddy Group, as a Resource Specialist. In 2016, Nick was promoted to Director-in-Training and then to director in August of 2017, when he led the charge of the newly-formed Framingham market in cultivating reciprocal relationships with area businesses in need of a skilled workforce. He also assisted the Lowell office in growing its market before being appointed to the York office.

Originally from Rochester, New York, Mastrella graduated from the University of Buffalo with a bachelor’s in sociology. He currently resides in York County with his wife and children.
