Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) is pleased to announce that Career Resource Specialist Ashley Ulrich on the Harrisburg, PA team is the 2024 recipient of the prestigious Frank Loughran Award. The award recognizes excellence in supported employment and is given each year to an individual who has exhibited creativity in job development for people with disabilities, and a commitment to fostering natural supports in the workplace.
Ashley was the first team member hired by Director Summer Turner in Harrisburg, which at the time was a brand-new service area for WOU, so getting off to a strong start was not only a challenge but critical to establishing WOU as a reputable service provider. Since joining WOU just over two years ago, Ashley has been an integral part of Harrisburg’s success and subsequent growth. She has led the PA team in both paid placements and work-based learning experiences this fiscal year, and has an impressive track record of retained placements as well as successful closures with clients from various service lines. In addition, Ashley is always willing to lend a hand to other team members when they need on-site coverage or support with job development activities.
