Iskedar Ayalew – Regional Director, Baltimore, MD

Iskedar is Regional Director, directly overseeing career services in WOU’s Montgomery, Baltimore, and Annapolis markets. She plans and directs the activities of her team in carrying out their functions of developing referrals from a variety of sources, developing placement sites, and ensuring delivery of quality services to all customers.
Prior to joining WOU, Iskedar held positions at a non-profit organization that focuses on children’s advocacy, legislative reform, and access/visitation services and at an organization that fosters academic and career development through technology skills training for youth and adults in the community. Iskedar joined WOU in 2010 as a Career Resource Specialist, was promoted to Team Lead in 2011, then to Director in 2013, and finally into her current role as Regional Director in 2016.
Iskedar graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Family Science and is certified in behavioral principles and strategies, autistic spectrum disorders, and CPR/first aid. In addition, she is a Certified Employment Support Specialist. Outside of WOU, Iskedar feeds her love of travel with adventures around the globe, including her favorite destinations of Egypt, Maldives, and Spain. When at home, she enjoys cooking, entertaining, and completing DIY projects around her house.
