Learn a consultative process for developing employer partnerships and strategies to effectively secure career exploration and employment opportunities for students. The process will include making initial contact with employers, facilitating employer meetings and the concept of job carving/creation. Facilitating Independence at Work
The goal of this course is to build capacity within you to provide job site supports to individuals with disabilities, their coworkers and supervisors in order to maximize the individual’s independence at work. Focus will be put on the support person’s role as a consultant to develop natural supports and facilitate successful employee/employer relationships by implementing effective interventions. Self-paced and live hosted webinars equating to 7 training hours.
SSA Benefits and Work Incentives
The goal of this course is for you to learn the basics related to SSDI and SSI benefits, the impact work has on these benefits and the work incentives available to assist recipients. Also, included is an overview of the Ticket to Work program administered by the Social Security Administration. Self-paced and live hosted webinars equating to 6 training hours.
