Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU), a community-based employment service provider specializing in placing job seekers with barriers to employment, is pleased to announce that Lisa Roche was recently appointed to director of career services in its Lowell, Massachusetts office.
As director of career services, Roche supports, manages, and mentors a team of career resource specialists in their role of providing quality employment support services in the community. In addition, she cultivates community relationships to grow WOU’s presence in the areas of special education, youth, school, and vocational rehabilitation.
Roche said, “I am very passionate about helping individuals overcome challenges so that they may be as independent and proactive as they want to be. This role allows me to remain active within special education by helping to mentor students looking to gain special education teacher certification in Massachusetts.”
Prior to joining WOU, Roche was a special education teacher for 12 years, committed to advocating for students with disabilities and learning challenges. She holds a master’s degree in moderate special needs from Lesley University and a master’s degree in integrated marketing from Emerson College.
